Bradfabs - School Stairs, Railings and Firescapes
At Bradfabs, we take pride in working on both domestic and commercial projects across the UK.
These projects include working in a range of environments, including schools, councils and residential homes.
In today’s blog, we look at stairs, railings and fire escapes that were completed by Bradfabs for schools across the country.
School Stairs and Railings
Our first project is the installation of these school stairs, which were designed and installed by Bradfabs at a local school in Bradford.
The design needed to be modern and practical. The staircase features a glass balustrade with a wooden handrail, closed treads on the first flight and open treads on the second.
The staircase was installed in the summer holidays, to minimise disruption to the school, and the design is well-suited to this contemporary building.
These school railings were designed and installed by Bradfabs at Ashlands Primary School.
The railings were located around the school and playground. Our client wanted the railings to feature hooped ends, to help prevent collisions.
They also wanted the railings to be very low maintenance, so requested that the railings were not powder coated or painted.
Bradfabs provides a range of fencing for schools, and these hoop top railings are no exception.
The railings are fabricated in mild steel and galvanised, and the client opted for the railings to be powder coated green.
A popular child-safe design, this hoop-top fencing was installed at residential homes next to a school in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Fire Escapes
This first fire escape is from a project at a school in Bradford.
The client wanted the colour of the fire escape to match the school colour scheme, and to feature an overhead canopy to shield from adverse weather conditions.
Our next fire escape was installed at Copthorne Primary School in Bradford.
The client wanted the fire escape to be completely safe, so the team designed a bespoke galvanised stairway, featuring powder coated balustrading, non-slip stair treads, stair caps and a stainless steel top handrail.
Our main objective with commercial projects is to make sure they are safe for public use, and is always a consideration when starting a project.
This fire escape was a bespoke design for a school in Yorkshire.
The fire escape is a spiral staircase design, and features two landings. This enables safe access to the roof area.
The fire escape needed to meet strict building regulations - this was taken into consideration during the design stages of the project.
