What does Bradfabs do?

Bradfabs specialises in bespoke steel fabrication, providing a full design, manufacture and installation service. We work on residential and commercial projects, including staircases, balconies, balustrades and architectural steelwork.


Where are you based and what areas do you cover?

We are based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, with our own in-house fabrication workshop. We undertake projects across the UK, depending on project size and requirements.


Do you offer a full design and installation service?

Yes. We offer a complete in-house service, from initial consultation and site survey through to design, fabrication and final installation by our experienced team.


Design & Survey

Do you carry out site surveys?

Yes. A site survey is an important part of our process to ensure accuracy and suitability. Surveys are typically carried out once a project progresses to the design stage.


Can you work from our drawings or architect’s plans?

Yes. We regularly work from architects’ drawings, structural engineers’ details, or client-provided dimensions. If required, we can also assist with design development.


Can you produce structural calculations?

Where required, we can arrange structural calculations through our appointed structural engineers to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.


Products & Materials

Are your products bespoke or off-the-shelf?

All of our products are bespoke. Each staircase, balcony or balustrade is designed and manufactured specifically for your project and site conditions.


What materials do you use?

We typically work with mild steel and stainless steel, mild steel can be galvanised, powder coated, or left in a specialist finish. We also incorporate glass and timber where required.


What finishes are available?

We offer a wide range of powder coated finishes, as well as galvanised finishes for external applications. Timber treads and handrails can be finished in various oils or lacquers.


Installation & Timescales

How long does a typical project take?

Timescales vary depending on complexity, approvals and workload. As a guide:

  • Design & approvals: 2–4 weeks
  • Fabrication: 4–8 weeks
  • Installation: Typically 1–3 days

We will confirm a programme once your project is agreed.


Who installs the steelwork?

All installations are carried out by our own experienced installation team. We do not subcontract installation.


Do you install on domestic and commercial sites?

Yes. We regularly work on private residential, commercial, and construction sites, and can comply with site-specific health and safety requirements.


Compliance & Safety

Do your products meet Building Regulations?

Yes. All of our work is designed and manufactured to comply with relevant UK Building Regulations and standards, including balustrade heights and loadings where applicable.


Are you insured and accredited?

Yes. We hold appropriate insurances and work to recognised industry standards. Details can be provided on request.

How do you price your work?

Each project is individually priced based on:

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. Typically, a deposit is required to confirm an order, with staged payments agreed depending on project size and scope.


Are there additional costs if site conditions change?

If site conditions or dimensions differ from agreed drawings, additional costs may apply. We always discuss and agree any variations before proceeding.


Aftercare

Do you offer warranties?

Yes. Our workmanship is covered by a warranty, with material warranties dependent on the products and finishes specified.


What if there is an issue after installation?

We pride ourselves on quality and customer service. If you have any concerns following installation, please contact us and we will address them promptly.
